What Is The Live-On Challenge?

The Live-On Challenge is the on-ice tug of war between the various residence halls of Michigan State University. A bracketteam comprised of 10 males and 10 females from each residence hall competes against the other halls in a bracket-style competition. The winner of each tug goes on to the next round and the loser is eliminated. The final winner of all tugs will be awarded a pizza party with the hockey bracketteam and Sparty, courtesy of Pizza House, as well as grab bags of RHA swag and a special prize to be announced towards the end of the competition.

How Are bracketteams Organized?

bracketteams are organized by your in-hall government. Talk to your hall executive board or RHA Representative to get more information. Each bracketteam is composed of 10 males and 10 females, with 30 tickets available for spectators. Tickets will be available in the RHA Movie Office in your complex and in the RHA Main Office in G-7 Holden Hall on the Tuesday before your bracketteam tugs. The RHA Movie Office Attendant will ask for your ID and the hall that you are representing, as well as contact information such as email address and cell phone number. This information is to help facilitate any changes or cancellations if necessary.

Where Do I Get My Ticket?

Tickets are available beginning on the Tuesday before your bracketteam tugs. Tickets will be primarily given out in the Main Office in G-7 Holden Hall and in the movie office nearest your hall. University Village residents may pick up their ticket from the the Resident Director, Chela Sporales, in the community center during normal business hours. If you want to organize a bracketteam and would like to receive tickets in a location beside these areas, please contact loc@rha.msu.edu with information on what you wish to accomplish and how many tickets you need.

How Can I Participate?

  • Be a bracketteam captain! You will be the first person contacted for all information related to your bracketteam. Make sure you communicate to your hall government or RHA Representative that you would like to be the bracketteam captain.
  • Get a ticket and compete with your hall!
  • Cheer on your bracketteam as a spectator!

When Do I Tug?
